A customer holding up a phone to pay at a bakery stall

Shopping

How do I start?

Point your phone camera at the vendor's QR sign, or tap Scan in the app. It opens that vendor's card. Sign up with your email and a 6-digit code, or with a passkey. There's nothing to download.

How do I add money?

Tap Add money and pick an amount. Then send it by Zelle from your own bank app to the vendor's Zelle shown on screen. Your bank shows the vendor's name before you send. The first time you add money at a vendor, it can be up to $100, and a card holds up to $200.

Which banks work?

Any US bank or credit union that offers Zelle in its app. That's more than 2,500 of them. You send from the bank app you already have.

Who should I prepay?

Only vendors you know and trust. Zelle payments are like cash: once sent, they usually can't be undone, and Zelle and banks don't offer purchase protection.

Why does the money I added say waiting?

It counts once the vendor sees your Zelle payment in their bank and taps Confirm. That's usually within minutes at the market.

How do I pay at the stall?

Tap Scan to pay and scan the vendor's sign, or open their card and show your pay code. The vendor types the amount and scans your code. Payments up to $25 go through at once. Bigger ones ask you to approve on your phone first.

What if my card doesn't cover it?

The card pays what it has, and you pay the rest in cash or by Zelle. Or tap Not enough? Add money on your pay code first.

What if there's no signal?

Your pay code still shows. Open the card once while you're online and it works offline after that. The vendor can also type the 6 digits under your code.

How do I find a vendor?

Tap Find a vendor in your wallet and search by name, or browse the farmers markets on this site. A vendor shows up there once their market lists them or after a few different shoppers have used their card. Any vendor's own sign works either way.

Can I change the order of my cards?

Yes. Touch and hold a card in your wallet, then drag it. Cards stay grouped by market, and your order is saved to your account, so it's the same on any phone.

Can I give a card as a gift?

Yes. Open a vendor's card, tap Gift and pick an amount from your balance. Add a note if you like, then share the link any way you like, or have us email it. The person you send it to adds it to their own wallet and spends it at the same vendor.

I was charged the wrong amount.

Open the payment in Activity and tap Something's wrong. The vendor gets your note and can put money back on your card in one tap.

The money I added never got confirmed.

If the vendor says they don't see it yet, check that your bank shows the Zelle payment sent to the vendor's name. Then open the card and tap Ask them to check again. If it still isn't confirmed, it's between you and the vendor.

Something seems off about a vendor.

Open their card and tap Report this vendor at the bottom. Reports from 2 different shoppers take a vendor out of Find a vendor and market pages. For a problem with one payment, use Something's wrong on that payment instead.

Who sorts out a problem with a vendor?

You and the vendor. Venda Wallet and markets never hold the money, so we can't reverse a payment or decide who's right.

Does my balance expire?

No. Venda Wallet never makes a balance expire or adds fees to it. If a vendor stops selling, they agree to send back what's left by Zelle.

Selling

What do I need?

Your phone, an email, and a business bank account enrolled in Zelle for small business. No card reader and no new payment account.

How do I set up?

Tap Get started and pick I'm a vendor. Add your business name, your business Zelle and the markets you sell at. Every US farmers market is already listed, and you can add yours if it's missing.

Do I have to wait for approval?

No. Set up your stall and you can take payments the same day. Your market doesn't approve or check anything.

Which banks work for my stall?

Any bank that offers Zelle for small business on a business account. Some banks charge businesses for Zelle, so check with yours.

Why a business Zelle account?

Your customers are paying your business, so we ask you to receive these payments on a business account, not a personal Zelle profile. You confirm this at setup.

How do customers find me?

Print your QR sign from Settings and put it where people pay. They scan it to open your card. Your own page and sign work from day one.

When do I show up in Find a vendor?

Once 3 different shoppers have added money or paid on your card, your stall joins your market's page, the app's Find a vendor and search engines. Business details shows how close you are. If your market sends us its vendor list, you show up right away and claim the listing when you set up.

How do I confirm a Zelle payment?

Money waiting shows on Today, in Money in. Check that it landed in your bank, then tap Yes, confirm. If you don't see it, tap Not yet and the customer is asked to check. Only confirm what you can see in your bank.

Can I open my bank app faster?

Yes. Pick your bank under Zelle in Settings, and Money in gets a button that opens your bank app.

How do I charge someone?

Tap Take payment, type the amount and scan their pay code. If the camera can't read it, type the 6 digits under the code. If their card is short, it pays what it has and you collect the rest in cash or by Zelle.

How do refunds work?

Open the customer in Customers and tap Refund. Back to their card puts money from a payment back on their card. Money back by Zelle is for when you send their balance back from your bank, and the card goes down to match. You can't take credit off a card any other way.

Can I change my Zelle?

Yes, in Settings. Your card holders get a notice with the new details, so they always pay the right account.

What if I stop selling?

Send each customer what's left on their card by Zelle. Customers shows every balance you still owe, and lists balances unused for 12 months for your state's unclaimed property rules.

Can I still take market tokens?

Yes. Venda Wallet doesn't replace your market's tokens or SNAP. Our Guides explain how farmers market tokens work for vendors.

Does it cost anything?

No. Venda Wallet is free for vendors and shoppers. Some banks charge businesses for Zelle, so check with yours.

Markets

Is my market on Venda Wallet?

Probably. The markets page lists about 7,900 US farmers markets from the USDA directory. Search by name or browse by state.

How do I bring my market on?

Email hello@vendawallet.com. We connect you as the organizer, so you can keep your market's page up to date and send us your vendor list.

What does an organizer do?

Keep their market's listing up to date and see which vendors sell there. Organizers don't approve vendors, check payment details or step into payments.

Do we handle the money?

No. Organizers and Venda Wallet never hold, move, reverse or decide payments. Money goes straight from shopper to vendor by Zelle, and any problem is between them.

Receipts

What is Receipts?

A receipt book on your phone, for anyone who takes payments: rent, storage, dues, childcare, nanny and home care, lessons, home services and sales. Log a payment and the payer gets a numbered receipt by email, with a PDF.

How do I start?

Tap Get started and pick I write receipts, or use the Switch group in Settings. Pick what you take payments for, and your receipts use your words, like tenant, parent or student.

Does Venda collect the money?

No. People pay you the way they do today, by Zelle®, check, cash or money order. Venda keeps the record and sends the receipt.

Do the people I give receipts to need an account?

No. They get the receipt by email with a PDF, or scan it off your phone. With a Venda account they also see a card for you, with every receipt on it.

What's a Quick sale?

A receipt with no saved customer, for a garage sale or a one-off job. List what sold, and the buyer scans the code on your screen for their copy.

What are Jobs?

For work with a quoted price. Add the job, log a deposit and each payment, and every receipt shows what's still owed.

Can I keep more than one book?

Yes. Add a book under Books in Settings. Each has its own name on receipts and its own numbers.

Can I change a receipt?

No. Receipts can't be edited or deleted. Open it, tap Void this receipt and give a reason, then issue the right one.

What do I get at tax time?

A year summary: every month added up, deposits apart, as a PDF or a spreadsheet. This isn't tax advice.

Does it cost anything?

No. Receipts is free. No fee per receipt and no monthly fee.

Your account

How do I sign in?

With a 6-digit code we email you, or with a passkey (Face ID, Touch ID or your phone's screen lock). After signing in with a code, you can add a passkey to skip the code next time.

I signed up with a passkey. Do I need an email?

It's a good idea. Add a backup email in Account, so you can still reach your cards if you lose your phone.

Can I have more than one account?

No. Each inbox gets one account, so addresses that land in the same inbox, like ones with a +tag, count as one. Throwaway email addresses can't sign up.

I never finished signing up.

If an account doesn't finish sign-up within 48 hours and holds nothing, we close it. Just sign up again.

Who can use Venda Wallet?

Anyone 18 or older who lives in the United States.

Can I buy, sell and keep receipts with one account?

Yes. Every Settings screen has a Switch group: Switch to vendor, Switch to landlord (or Receipts) and Switch to wallet.

Can I add it to my Home Screen?

Yes. In Account, tap Add to Home Screen. On iPhone, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. It opens like an app and works with weak signal.

How do I get notifications?

Turn on Notifications in Account to hear about confirmations and charges you need to approve. On iPhone, add Venda Wallet to your Home Screen first.

Can I turn off the sounds?

Yes, with Sounds in Account. On iPhone they also follow your silent switch.

Can I get my data or close my account?

Yes. Both are under More in Account. Spend or get refunds for your balances before you close it. Your payment history stays, without your email, because vendors and the law rely on it.

Who holds my money?

The vendor, in their own bank account. Venda Wallet never holds, moves or touches money.

Is Venda Wallet part of Zelle or my bank?

No. It's an independent app, not affiliated with Zelle or any bank.

Do you need my bank login?

Never. Payments happen in your own bank app.

Does it work with SNAP or EBT?

No. Keep using your market's token program for benefits.

Still stuck?

For missing money, open the card and tap Ask them to check again. For anything else, email hello@vendawallet.com.
